- Veto power - power to cancel or postpone the decisions.
Informal powers of presidency:
- Power to go public
- Power of persuasion - can persuade other officials
- Make executive arrangements between heads of government of two
of more nation's
- Issue executive orders to manage operations of federal
government
- Make legislative proposals if two institutions agree on
amendments
These powers succeed when both the president and other political
bodies cooperate and if the powers of president are checked by both
the legislative and judicial.
