What would you expect to happen to cellular respiration and photosynthetic rates if you added aquatic snails to the solution in addition to the algal species Scenedesmus obliquus? When considering this question, assume that the environmental conditions/variables are optimal for both processes.

Snails are also dependent on the cellular respiration for their energy demand from the food. The digestive system of snail is simple tube which contains bacteria that releases carbon dioxide and ammonia by The breakdown of food that is by the breakdown of plant material. There is a close relationship between snails and Algae . The algae takes up the carbon dioxide that is produced by the snails by the cellular respiration and use the carbon dioxide for the photosynthesis. There is a symbiotic relationship exist between snails and scenedesmus obliquus . The scenedesmus obliquus Algae result in the release of high amount of oxygen which increases the availability of oxygen to the snail increases the rate of cellular respiration in the snails. Thereby , both algae and snails are beneficial for each other . That's why called symbiotic relationship .
