a) Nano science and nanotechnology is the science and technology of ultra fine particles. Generally nanotechnology deals with developing materials, devices or other structures with at least one dimension, sized from.1 to 100 nanometers. Quantum mechanical effect are very important at this scale. At present, nanotechnology has also encouraged interdisciplinary research due to several peculiar and attractive properties of nanostructures nano materials are exceptionally strong, hard, and ductile at high temperatures, wear-resisatnt, erosion resistant and chemically very active. Properties of nano particles significantly differ from those at large scale. For example, the melting point of gold is dramatically reduced when tge particle diameter is below 5nm as things approach the nanoscale, new properties emerge due to size confinement and quantum phenomena. These new properties can be controlled to give us materials with new applications.
