Project Description

The objective of this project is to design, simulate and build a speech filter. The design should operate on less that ±6 Volts DC. Please keep in mind that you should monitor the cost of the design components. Therefore you will need to determine the frequency band of speech and investigate low power options for the design. After reviewing the various tradeoffs which happens after design and simulations, you should then order the parts for the actual design. Your design must include simulations (Matlab, Multisim or other simulation tools) as well as power and frequency analysis. Make sure your input signal has the various frequency ranges that demonstrates that your design works. You must also compare the actual simulation results to the actual results and explain any differences.

Your circuit should address the following:

  1. Demonstrate the speech filter response of the design. Use a LM358N Op amp. The frequencies are 300Hz low end and 3.3KHz high end.
  2. Power analysis of the design
  3. What could you have done differently to make the circuit more efficient whether its cost, performance or simply a different design implementation?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The Active bandpass filter designed and simulated in Multisim with the LM358N op-amp

The maximum voltage gain of the filter is (R2/R1)=1

voltage gain for the designed circuit is calculated for various frequency and plotted against the frequency

OP-AMP LM385N has more advantages

1.wide power supply range +-1.5V to +-16V(Dual power supply), and also it can be operated in single power supply (3V-32V)mode

2. Internally Frequency Compensated for Unity Gain

The entire circuit is construcetd by using minimal low cost components.

Project Description In this project you will build a car configuration application in six units. Each unit provides learning opportunities in Object Oriented Design. You are expected to document these lessons and apply them in the next unit. You will notice that the design guidance will taper off as you progress through units in Project 1. You will be expected to design on your own. Project 1 - Unit 1 In this project you will build a Car Configuration Application...

The project is to "Design and build an experiment to verify the first law of thermodynamics by stirring air with an electric motor powered paddle, in a well-insulated container." We are planning on finding the work of the motor and seeing if it equal to the change in internal energy of the container. The only problem is that we are confused on how to find the internal energy. What would be the best/easiest way to solve this? Also since the...
