1) What evidence is there to support String Theory? Is String Theory really a scientific theory, or is it “just philosophy”? Why or why not? Does it have potential for proof?
This question has been baffling generations of physicists and scientists ever since the idea of string theory was first brought up. While some believe that this idea is merely a mathematical mirage that has led a lot of physicists to waste their time and energy in this meaningless pursuit of finding evidence t justify the existence of string theory. Some do believe that the string theory is the way to achieve a grand unification theory. But it is highly unikely that we will be able to verify the string theory in near future due to very small size and nature of these strings in terms of elementary particles for everything that exists in our universes or other universes.
There are some groups of scientists that do believe that we may be able to find some clues in the recently detected gravitational waves but as of the moment we have no proof to justufy the string theory and hence it is merely a scientific theory. It may have some potential to proof in future but none at the moment.
