YOU Make the ETHICAL Call

4.1 Leadership Gender

Do you think that men and women lead the same or differently?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Leader leads a group and motivates them to achieve an objective. In most cases, men are leaders these days but it does not mean that a woman is unable to lead a group successfully. Leadership qualities are different from person to person. It depends on a lot of factors but not on the gender. For example, situations faced by a person mould that person in a very unique way. These experiences change the way of the thinking of that person entirely. Coginzance is the deciding factor for leading a group. It is unethical to consider gender while selecting a leader. Stereotyping women as not suitable for leading a group is unethical. The environment that a person grows in affects the leadership qualities. For example, a person who grew in an environment not favourable for poor, would have developed a quality to lead a group to fight for justice. A man who is ethically sound can lead a company to very top if given chance, whatever the gender is.

I think that men and women lead in same way. Gender does not decide the effectiveness of the leader.
