Researches and Examples

  1. A study was carried out in Oman to assess the link between environmental exposure and health. The study aim was to assess the health effects in a popullation of less or more than 20years of age, living in the residential area around the Sohar Industrial Zone. Results showed that people living within the high and intermediate exposure was associated with a greater risk ratio for ARD-Acute Respiratory Distress, Asthma,Conjunctivitis and dermatitis. A study was conducted in Bommasandra and Jigani industrial areas , Bangalore, India during the period of Feb 2011 to May 2011.The study was conducted among human beings with an age group of 18 to 55 yearswho were living around the area. The results showed that about 40 to 70 persons with an average age of about 35 yrs who were exposed to air pollution for about 10 hours per day and with no family history of breathlessness, were selected for the study .The study results showed that people developed eye and nose irritation, skin irritations, respiratory problems.

Based on the above examples it is important to develop local policy:

  • Pollution control certificates has be obtained by the Manfacturing plant every year.
  • Manufacturing plants should be held responsible by providing compensation to people if any health hazard happens.
  • And the manufacturing plant has to be shut down if an complication arises.
