Giardia is a Zooflagellate, it is found by Antonie van Leeuwenhoek in trophozoite form in his own stools.

Significance: it is a facultative pathogenic paracite which is responsible for diarrhea which is contagious and transmitted through infected feces. Or the food contaminated by feces.
