Balanced processing is a self-regulatory behavior. How would a leader know if she were doing balanced processing? How does balanced processing fit with passion and vision?

Balanced processing refers to objectively analyzing available data and exploring other stakeholder opinions before making a decision. Balanced processing is one of the characteristic of authentic leadership behavior. Here, behavior includes testing assumptions of related individuals transparently and having open modus operandi without hidden agenda.

Balanced processing can be practiced by any leader through willfulness for objectivity while making decision. Analyzing information in objective manner refers to unbiased analysis of information. There will be no personal bias or emotions affecting the analysis of data. The leader must have intention to make decision in objective manner, without which balanced processing cannot be practiced. Hence, we can say balanced processing is a self-regulatory behavior.

Below are some points which serve as indicator for balanced processing practice. The leader can check by matching their processing style/behavior with below given indicators:

1. Perceiving the situation in unbiased way is primary indicator of balanced processing.

2. Analyzing the information at situation without any personal beliefs or hidden agenda for personal benefit.

3. Consulting others for their view about the situation and considering their opinions.

4. Deciding on what measures to be taken by discussing openly with all stakeholders.

5. Making plan of action transparent and accessible for all stakeholder to ensure no place for personal agenda.

6. Moving towards goal with all stakeholder with plan accepted by all.

If these points are followed by leader, then leader can be sure he/she doing balanced processing.

Passion can be defined as devotion towards something or some goal. Vision is having foresight for an organization or the entire community. Leader may have passion and vision of achieving some goal for community or organization which all other members also share with each other. Balanced processing helps the leader to have common goal for achievement which is accepted by all stakeholders of community or organization. By practicing balanced processing, the leader will have set a goal or make decision which is relevant and necessary for all members and there will be no personal hidden agenda. Hence, we can say by considering collective opinions for decision making ensuring unbiased decision and collective efforts towards goal, balanced processing fit with passion and vision.
