What does the song "No Church in the Wild" use from Plato's dialogue Euthyphro? What do you understand the song to be trying to say with that quote in this song? Is the song using the quote from Plato to convey a different meaning than it has in the dialogue by Plato?
This is a chorus song which is describing the relationships of humans. They are ruled by mob mentality, and general people are always considered as poor and uneducated. There will always be a king as rich and educated, and king always hold the ultimate power of the state.Sometime, because of power, king becomes a god and people considered him as their superior. He is respected a lot by his subjects. The theme of the song is simplyan expression of nihilism. The “church” stands for “meaning, value, or purpose” and “the wild” stands for “the world”. So the title literally means “there is no meaning, value, or purpose in the world”. There is a negation of an image: “no church”. This complements the message of the song; we feel the loss of value more strongly when contrasted with the image of a church whose existence has been negated. The term “the wild” functions similarly, by implication -the “wild” is a negation of social order. It says that morality is not determined by a religious authority, but by whether you are trespassing on other people’s autonomy.
