The correct option would be (B) pain relieved by food
intake.
This can happens because of the food consumed, it neutralises the
gastric acid in the stomach and prevents it from leaking into the
duodenum. Hence the ulcers are not acted upon by the gastric acid
and does not cause pain.
- weight loss- weight loss occurs in the gastric ulcer patients.
It is because there is development of pain immediately after eating
food ----> gastric acid is released and it irritates the ulcer
present in the stomach. This prevents the person from eating and
hence there are symptoms of weight loss. But in duodenal
ulcer there is no such problem.
- Normal or hyposecreation of the stomach acid - this is a
feature of gastric ulcer. It in duodenal ulcer , there is
hypersecretion of the gastric acid which ultimately leaks to the
duodenum.
- Vomiting- It is not a very common symptom. In fact it is one of
the rarest symptoms in a case of ulcer.
