2015-2020 dietary guidelines focus on healthy eating patterns and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. The dietary guidelines have created by including all age group of 2 years to older age. The guidelines focus on five main things of
These guidelines explained what must be consumed and how much should be consumed to maintain good health throughout the lifespan but not criticized on what must be avoided. One guideline that must be included is "Minimize unsustainable food". People are consuming large amounts of animal products to get enough protein. The protein can be gained through the vegetables, cereals, pulses and animal products can be less consumed such as meat, beef, which is environmentally unsustainable food. The nutrition can be balanced by consuming plant-based food which has a lower environmental impact. This guideline is added will help to have healthy future generations and to have a sustainable environment.
