increases the financial load
- Recurrent antibiotic courses increase risk of diarrhea and
vitamin deficiencies
- These pressure injuries may require debridement - this can
injure the nerves and cause pain.
- Painkiller and antibiotics have lot of side effects.
- Pressure injuries prolong the course to recovery or even
complicate the course.
- This can depress the patient and even cause anxiety.
- This reduces the patient's productivity
- If the patient is a sole earner of the family, this could
affect the home economics as the patient will be absent from work
for a long time
Psychosocial implication of malignant melanoma:
- Reduced ability to cope with psychological stress
- Increase risk of anxiety depression
- Cosmetic blemish
- Loss of muscle mass - increase the incidence of fatigue
- Reduced capacity to do work
- Anti malignancy drugs associated side effects ( peripheral
neuropathy) can reduce the capacity of the patient to move
around.
- There is an overall reduction in health-related quality of life
of the patient.
