Squamous cell carcinoma

  • Abnormal growth of cells in the skins upper layer (epidermis)
  • It appears like thick rough, scaly patches may bleed when bumped or scratched
  • Second most common cancer
  • Treatment: Surgery (Cryo surgery, laser treatment, photodynamic therapy, radiation, electrosurgery)
  • Prognosis: if detected early can be cured
  • Death: uncommon,if left untreated then mortality is high
  • Risk factors: fair skin, light hair, blue or green eyes, history of basal cell carcinoma

Malignant melanoma

  • Mole that increases in size, shape and irregular edges,Colorado change
  • Treatment: Surgery
  • Prognosis: 5 year survival rate
  • Risk factors:Family history,poor immunity, many moles

Kaposi sarcoma
