B: purulent drainage
C: pruritus
D: pain
A nurse is caring for a client who is experiencing hypovolemic shock. Which of the following blood product should anticipate administering to this client
A: cryoprecipitates
B: albumin
C: platelets
D: packed RBCs
pruritis is the answer.
malignant melanoma is a neoplasm of melanocytes, which is a pigment producing cell .
it occur in skin , but rarely can occur in mouth, intestine , eye ..
primary cause of melanoma is ultraviolet light exposure in those with low levels of skin pigment melanin.
those with many moles , history of same disease in family , poor immune function , genetic disease like xeroderma pigmentosa are at greater risk of developing disease .
diagnosis by biopsy of suspected lesion
changes in preexisting moles that indicates melanomas include increase in size(more than 6 mm ) , irregular margins , change in colour(usualy black or brown , sometime pink or tan ) , itching (pruritis) , skin breaking
so here the nurse should take care of patient complaining of itching in the skin lesion .
2. answer is packed RBC
in a patient with hypovolumic shock . replacement of fluids using crystaloid like normal saline , ringer lactate .. is mainstay of managment.
packed RBC can be also used in hypovolumic shock occuring following blood loss more than or equal to 10 % of total blood volume .
also in patients having refractory shock despites adequate fluid adminstration and declining hematocrite.
platlet transfusion in case of prolonged shock with coagulopathy and abnormal coagulogram .
in case of systemic massive bleeding , platlet transfusion may be needed in addition to RBC transfusion
cryoprecipitate is given in patient with coagulopathy with bleeding
albumin is used to prevent low blood volume , low blood pressure , replace albumin in people with low albumin
