(a) Domesticated animals and plants can spread easily to new locations with a similar climate. The African and Eurasian continents are connected, and the climate in the south of Africa is very similar with the Eurasia continents. But why the domesticated species did not reach the south of Africa in the early human history? Explain. (3 Points)
There was little human to human contact between people of Eurasia and south Africa. The contact was historically hindered by the presence of hot and dry Sahara . Further the equatorial central Africa is also hot which is not suitable for human movement. Thus in early human history domesticated species of plants and animals could not spread to south Africa. Thus we see as means of transport improved contact become more and more easy and spread became inevitable.
