Ans:- Styrofoam is a kind of polystyrene (plastic nature) substance. It is used for making coffee cup and other packing materials. It is lightweight and easy to carry. But use of Styrofoam evironmentaly and socialy very harmful and economically it is not bad.

When Styrofoam is used with heated food it discharge poisonous chemicals in to the food. That chemicals are very dangerous to the health. When Styrofoam is directly showing to sunlight it produces very dangerous air pollutant, that is very harmful to the environment and also it causes depletion of the ozone layer. The environmentalists are usually opposing the use of this product because they say it is harmfully affecting the environment .Consuming Styrofoam is dangerous to animals also.

Economically Styrofoam is less expensive compared to other forms of similar products (packing materials). So the food manufacturers usually use this products.
