Three things you should NOT do when networking -
1. Dawdling with data that isn't useful
Sometimes, the person you are in conversation with can endure on and on with information. If it’s helpful, let the person continue talking. If it’s not useful, refocus the interview. Once the person ends making their point, you can say that you don’t require an excessive amount of their valuable time and so raise another question that you just need them to answer.
2. Inquiring for employment
Networking is for developing relationships, but not to seek a job on the spot. Typically you'll find a job through your network, however solely once you’ve developed and strengthened your relationships.
3. Failing to follow up
Keep your connections contemporary and unforgettable by making a note to check-in once in for a while. This can be a thank you note once a meeting is done, an update on your progress you bought from the affiliation, a relevant article concerning business news or events, a gratulatory note once a significant event therein person’s life, and so on.
