Microsoft Excel, the spreadsheet application developed by Microsoft, can perform functions, that a normal human brain can't imagine. Its versatility and flexibility to analyse large volumes of data and performing mathematical operations is amazing. It caters to a variety of business needs, is easy to use and is used in almost all industries, irrespective of its size and legal structure. In my personal experience, I feel that the humongous nature of Excel and the kinds of operations it can perform just by applying formulas is amazing. Not only this, it can also solve the financial functions that involve the application of the Time Value of Money concepts. Making of projects, depicting data pictorically through bar diagrams and pie charts, drawing up the financial statements of an entity, it can all be done on Excel. The file can be easily stored and shared and edited as per the needs of the user. It has excellent accessibility. One can maintain passwords and confidential data on this file. There cant be any fear in using this, as it is extremely user friendly and we can always press the help button when we are stuck. Thanks to Microsoft for this incredible boon, it only makes life easier.
