What are the differences between type I and type II diabetes? When the body does not have enough insulin to convert carbohydrates into energy, what happens to the vascular system? Why are people with diabetes so much more vulnerable to heart disease and some cancers?
No.1.
Type I diabetes is known as insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), it means Type I diabetes patient always required insulin.
In this case, there is no insulin production in the body due to the destruction of the Beta-cell of the pancreas.
Type II diabetes is known as non-insulin dependant diabetes mellitus, it means the patient with Type II diabetes not required insulin always.
In this case, there is either a very less amount of insulin produced from the beta-cell, or insulin is resistant to the body. In some cases, both happen.
No.2.
When the body does not have enough insulin to convert carbohydrates into energy, then the behavior of blood vessels are changed due to the high glucose level in the blood.
It makes blood vessels more vulnerable to plaque formation due to the deposition of fatty acids inside the blood vessels, it can lead to various health conditions like coronary artery diseases, brail stroke, and peripheral artery diseases.
High blood glucose level decreases the level of Nitric oxide from the wall of blood vessels which affects the vasodilation, it increases the risk of high blood pressure.
No.3.
Due to the risk of the formation of Atherosclerotic plaque the people with diabetes are more vulnerable to heart diseases.
Microvascular diseases are the main cause of the different type of cancer in diabetes, Due to lack of blood supply cells are behave differently which causes mutation.
