What are different bacterial disease in plants? Write details about the disease in plants. How the bacterial disease in plants will be controlled?
Ans) there are many typee of bacterial diseases in plants such as:-
1) Blight:- blight is mainly caused by bacterial and some times by fungal attack in plants which leads to the change in plants such as browning, spotting, withering, drying of leaves, flowers, fruits amd even the whole plant. It generally occurs in potatoes and tomato plants.
Control:- measures for controlling blight includes destruction of infected plant parts, crop rotation, use of diseased free as well as pest resiatance varities of seeds.
2) Crown gall:- it is a common bacteria disease caused by Agrobacterium tumefaciens. They mainly harm grape trees, nut trees and complete rose family. They form roundish, rough surfaced galls present at the roots, bud union and lower stems.
Control:- can be controlled or avoided by keeoing away root chewing insects and nematodes, practicing crop rotation, removing severely damaged plants, etc.
3) Wilt:- it is a common disease caused by pseudomonas, xanthomonas and corneybacterium species. When the plant or tree is harmed, an expanding dark green water soaked area is first developed in the leaves.
Control:- bacterial wilt can be controlled by growing resistance varities, soil is cleant and sterilized, etc.
4) Canker:- it is also generally caused ny bacteria and shows sympotoms such as swollen, flat, cracked stems. These cankers enlarge and girdle a twig or a branch killing the foliage beyond it. They generally attack plants which are weak by insect invasion, cold, drought, etc.
Control:- Remove diseased part in dry weather, avoid overwatering, control insects ane rodents which are disease carriers.
