Describe in details about the backround of bacterial; Bacillus cereus; agar media used and morphology?
Bacteria: Bacteria also called germs, are micro scopic organisams not visible with the naked eye. Bacteria are single celled , or simple ,organism. Through small,Bactria are powerful and complex , and they survive in extreme conditions.
Bacteria have existed from very early in the history of life on earth .Bacteria fossils discovered in rocks date from at least the Devonian period (419.2 million to 358.9 million years ago ), and there are convincing arguments that bacteria have been present since early Precambrian time , About 3.5 billion years ago.
Bacillus cereus is gram positive ,rod shaped ,facultatively anaerobic, motile, beta hemolytic, spore forming bacterium commonly found is soil and food. The specific name ,cereus ,meaning waxy in Latin , refers to the appearance of colonies grown on blood agar.
Nutrient agar is a general purpose, nutrient medium used for the cultivation of microbes supporting growth of wide range of non fastidious organisams. Nutrient agar is popular because it can grow a variety of types of bacteria and fungi, and contains many nutrients needed for the bacterial growth.
Morphology I'd a branch of biology dealing with the study of the form and structure of organisms and their specific structural features .Morphology is a branch of life science dealing with the study of gross structure of an organism or taxon and its component parts.
