A patient with an immune disorder is a higher risk for infection. which interventions would be used in the care of this patient.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Intervention in patient with immune disorder having higher risk of infection are:-

1. Isolation of patient from general ward to isolation ward for more hygienic environment than rest of the patients.

2. Doctor or nurse should take aseptic measures in patient care activities and procedures like drug infusion through IV line.

3. Patient should be provided with immune booster food like food containing vitamin C, antioxidants to strengthen their immunity.

4. Assessing patient on daily basis for any wound like bed sores, which may act as an entry of infection inside the body hence deteriorating the condition of patient even more.

5. An Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) should educate and assist nurse in risk of this patient to infection and sources of infection and ways to avoid the infection.

6. Minimizing the risk of infection by identifying the causes of infection around the patient.

7. Patient should be given appropriate vaccine which is not contraindicated in a specific case accordingly.

8. Proper hygiene of patient like hand washing, mouth hygiene should be maintained.

Discuss the immune response to E. Coli. Include the branches of the immune system which would mount the response, how that response would be mounted, and the major effector functions that would be observed. While you should include information on the innate immune response to your chosen pathogen, the bulk of your response should be focused on the adaptive immune response.
