What are some examples of health disparities? Do you think health disparities can be removed in the United States? If so, how could this be accomplished? If not, explain why this may be difficult.
Definition:
Health disparities are defined as the burden of disease, injury, violence or opportunities to achieve optimal health that are experienced by socially disadvanged people.
Some of Health disparities:
- cancer, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, cardio vascular disease are some examples of health disparities.
It can be removed in the US if we follow some the things like
- An expansion of current health disparities to generate stable estimates through over sampling certain population are necessary.
- An expansion of metric and indicators capturing the broader definition of health including health equity and social determinants of health.
- health outcome which is related to social determinants of health can be changed through case control study even a decade to see a quantifiable change.
- health disparities can be removed through increased funding opportunities to develop and test the relevant theory, measures, and scientific methods with the goal of enhancing the rigor with which the investigators examine structual inequities.
