  2. Also- What is llustrate about exercise prescription in hyperyensive clients? SBP and DBP effects?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The peak BP's during isometric actions depends on

  • stroke volume
  • peripheral resistance

a decrease in stroke volume, decreases the peak blood pressure ,a decrease in peripheral resistance , decreases the peak blood pressure

EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION IN HYPERTENSIVE CLIENTS

  • Hypertension occurs when BP increases above 140/90 mmHg.Hypertension may increase the possibility for heart attacks.Exercise can lower the BP & increases the working of cardiovascular system. The daily aerobic exercise can results in BP of 5-7 mmHg.The exercise including walking, jogging, jumping rope, skating, swimming, rowing, cross country skiing will reduce the BP. Studies says that regular physical activity may be beneficial for both treatment and prevention of hypertension. The intensive isometric exercise such as heavy weight lifting can have a marked pressor effect and should be avoided.

There are 3 basic types of exercise

  • cardiovascular,or aerobic,exercise
  • Strength training
  • Stretching

SBP AND DBP EFFECTS

Diastolic blood pressure is a measure of the blood pressure in the blood vessels between heartbeats. It shouldn't change significantly during exercise.

systolic blood pressure is measure of blood pressure when your hearts beats.

Aerobic exercise put additional demands on your cardiovascular system.its normal for systolic blood pressure to rise to between 160-220 mmHg during exercise. Unless you've cleared it with your Docter, stop exercising if your systolic BP surpasses 200mmHg, your risk of a heart problem increases. The vigorous aerobic fitness training can increases systolic pressure to 181 mmHg and take 10-20 minutes to returns to resting level.

The diastolic blood pressure responce to exercise was evaluated independently of ST segment change and systolic blood pressure. In the presence of normal systolic blood pressure responce an increses in diastolic blood pressure of 15mmHg on at least determinations during the same stage stage of exercise was considered abnormal.
