With millions of such customers Starbucks is able to use business analytics and find out which product a customer is interested in and what offers are customers looking for. The company then sends mails and SMSs to customers after analyzing the data regarding the offers. These offers are according to the customers hence it increases sales. This also allows Starbucks to increase to frequency of existing base of customers.
