In no less than 150 words how would a person’s peers affect a person’s socialization and why?
The peers of an individual serve as one of the most important agents when it comes to the activity of socialization. This is because an individual tends to have a good relationship with their peers in any social system and as a result, a lot of the socialization that takes place within the society is with the peers of the individual. This might be because the individual generally shares something in common with peers like social class, caste, occupation, or interests and that is the reason why they serve as an important point of socialization.
Peers are also important because they shed light on the norms of the culture and society and also the different set of ideologies that might be present in society. It is through the help of socialization by peers that a lot of the societal constructions take place like gender. This is because the expectations of the peer group that are expressed during socialization are also understood to be the expectations of the society and that is also one of the other reasons why peers are important when we talk about the socialization of an individual.
