Education, Outline the most significant obstacles to obtaining an education in developing countries. Suggest at least two reasons why education should be a priority in the developing world. Next, purpose significant overall strategies- aside from building more schools-that those in leadership positions in developing countries may use in order to help their people escape poverty through education.
Outline the most significant obstacles to obtaining an education in developing countries
1. Poverty: A significant portion of the population in developing countries live o below poverty line. They cannot afford to send children to school.
2. Availability of schools: Schools are not available in rural and hilly areas. Even if they are available, they are of poor quality with lack of teachers and infrastructure.
Two reasons why education should be a priority in the developing world
Improvement in standard of living. Education will help people get good jobs and raise their standard of living.They will move out of poverty.
Increase in wages: Education helps workers learn new techniques and there can be greater mobility of workers. This will lead to greater wages and improvement in job conditions.
Significant overall strategies
Building better roads and enable access to schools. In developing countries students drop out because there are no roads to go to schools. They may have to cross rivers and climb mountains.
Free breakfast and lunch: Providing free food to poor students will help improve attendance.
