FACTORS INFLUENCING THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH CARE:

• Cost
• Access
• Quality

BARRIERS TO HEALTH CARE SERVICES:

• BeleBel in Devine healing
• Refusal of care on holy days
• Belief that individuals taking the I'll person to the health care facility is responsible for ill patient for rest of that person's life after recovery.
• Belief that illness is a result of sins committed in previous life.
• Belief that illness is God's punishment.

CHALLENGES/ BARRIERS WITHIN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM:

• The public's disillusionment with providers
• Loss of control over health care decisions
• Decreased use of Hospitals and impact of quality of care
• Changing practice settings
• Ethical issues
• Vulnerable Populations

So, Multiple approaches to delivery system reform may be necessary to bend the cost curve and improve care quality.

For example, the effectiveness of a single disease management program may be limited for patients who have multiple chronic conditions and who require coordinated care from many specialists. Moreover, efforts to coordinate care will be less effective without the use of electronic medical records and more comprehensive decision support for both patient and provider.

So, Delivery system reforms must be implemented in concert with other reforms to provide the tools, resources, and incentives (for patients and providers) needed to assure better patient outcomes.
