Higher Education is in crisis? How can we be positive leaders amidst the chaos we see at our institutions? Is it unrealistic or just challenging? Does it take a miracle or just a change in mindset?
I don't think that higher education is in crisis. More people are getting Doctoral degrees these days. Industries are more interested in specialists.
This is creating the demand of higher education. Organisations are more interested in idea givers. They do not merely want employer. They need critical thinker.
Institutions are becoming more anarchial places without any doubt. Institutions have become a place of politics. Various political debates warm up the atmosphere.
This can be seen as planned chaos. This creates awareness among students. They come to know about current problems of society. They think and they raise their voices against the faulty system.
All these act as fertile ground for leadership development. This act as training ground for future leadership. It is very challanging task to maintain a system in the whirlpool of anarchy. Uncomfortable situations give the realisation of comfortability.
