Is college for every one

More than 75% of all high school students believe (whether on their own or through cultural pressures) that college is the best option for them following high school and this decision may be their own or through society influence. The experience has become more relevant nowadays.

Is it really the best option, for students? It wasn’t always the case in the history , but gradually it is changing . we’ll largely be discussing the necessity of the 4-year college, as this is often seen as the “best” option after high school. most of the students prefer what their friends are planning to do or take the parents advice rather than they follow their heart and best choice. It’s what the kids with the highest test scores do, it’s what supposedly gives you the most income potential, and it still carries a prestige that simply isn’t found in community colleges or trade schools.

The following are the other best option than going to a 4 year colleage.

1) Start a Business - Be a entrepreneur without a college degree

2)Attend community college

3)Get into a trade

4)Be an artist

5)Be a teacher - both direct and online

6) Go for any Job

7)Real estate

8)Join military

9)Become a research fellow

Wages simply aren’t keeping up with college costs and  Colleges are increasingly running into financial problems. Factors such as overstaffed with highly paid administrative offices and colleges feeling the need to cater to prospective students in the form of luxurious dining halls, dormitories, fitness centers, and coffee shops. Commercialism has found its way to the university. Because of these increasing costs, tuition prices are rising at about three times the rate of inflation. But outcome is getting reduced. unemployment is increasing .in this senario we have to consider the following things

1) Find out your  interests is matching with the college you opted - study your interest first and compare .You need to decide whether you prefer a rural or urban environment, whether distance from home is important, whether you wish to go to a school that foregrounds your particular religion, whether the size of the enrollment matters, and whether you want a true campus experience where students live on campus and near classrooms. its should be based on your interest because you are the one going toinvest your time and the money .You want to learn about the size of classes, whether they are taught by senior faculty or adjuncts and teaching assistants, and whether undergraduates--especially in the sciences and engineering but also the in the social sciences and the humanities--have a chance to do advanced research. You might also think about the physical facilities and the activities that interest you.

2) Find a match between your high school record and abilities and the schools to which you apply.

it should match with your potential and current grade in high school grade. In the application process, note that extra-curricular activities and community service matter. But it is better to excel in and/or play a leadership role in one or two activities than to be a participant in a long list.Check the college academic status and acheivement for the previous years .For non-elite schools, you should investigate the graduation rate and the time from matriculation to commencement.

3) Find a match between the anticipated costs and your ability to pay.

Money is a important matter find out that it is reasonable and whether you to able afford for all the years Learn what kind of financial aid is available to you and whether that aid takes the form of scholarships, work study jobs, other jobs, or loans. Taking into consideration tuition, room and board, travel costs and allowing some funds for miscellaneous costs, make up budgets for the colleges that interest you.

College time is the learning phase. so grab every opportunity to make it is fruitful. The problem for today's college students, and especially juniors, is how to balance learning for practical purposes -- career and graduate school preparation -- with the joy of learning. junior year as a bridge between the college experience and the post-graduate experience. It is your last year in the college incubator, but one that looks forward to a time when the college experience is over.feel free to make lot of mistake in the learning process and keep a good academic score. focus on developing skills for the future especially, leadership skills, technical skills , communication , listening skills.Key words for this years are "proactive," "imaginative," "experimental," as well as, on the practical side.

Attending college isn’t necessarily the mind-expanding endeavor it’s always been made out to be. While it’s assumed you’ll be a better critical thinker, problem solver, philosopher, etc., those benefits don’t automatically accrue simply by sending in your tuition check.

Our colleges are simply no longer qualifying our students for gainful employment. The loosening of academic standards mentioned above not only negatively impacts the quality of the critical thinking and reasoning skills acquired in college in a general sense, but in a more tangible way, it makes students ill prepared for the job market.Sure, the environment can lend itself to growth, but attending college without vigorously applying yourself won’t magically sharpen your cognitive powers.Rising to the very top of the class no longer requires the maxing out of one’s cognitive abilities

Problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking are the top three skill for entering the business world. so college have to put more focus on that area .Another major deficiency is writing and oral communication so conduct coaching to improve that should be a part of the course is advisable.

It is a year for testing and refining values, for discovering who a student is and who that student want to be in future.so mould them for a high potential.
