Francis was a complex figure, a man who contemporaries claimed lived out the Sermon on the Mount better than anyone else, except of course, the man who first preached it.Francis was more rigorous than popular imagination allows. In winter, he sometimes hurled himself in a ditch full of ice and stayed there until every vestige of sinful temptation departed. To avoid lust, he fixed his gaze on the sky or ground whenever he spoke with a woman.

Reading the Bible or studying the life of jesus isnt enough investing the time to practice Bible is more important.read with questions, meditate on verses, write notes and look up cross-references. The more time you spent studying, the more you  realize the very real power of God’s Word to transform,to comfort , to give wisdom for real life.
