describe your philosophy of nursing.
The definition of a philosophy is having a personal and specific outlook and approach you can use to make decisions and take action. Your philosophy of nursing should include your beliefs and attitudes about nursing, being a nurse, your approach to caring for others. It can also include your attitudes about working in healthcare facilities, working as part of a team, or even how you feel about people in general.
Philosophy of nursing states that"our thoughts on what we believe to be true about the nature of the professsion of nursing and provide a basis for nursing activities"..The values and beliefs are the foundations of the attitudes which moulds a nurse. In a health care setting all are members of an interdisciplinary team ,who works in collaboration to save lives. It is a good feeling to work together as a team.We accept and respect our patients unique view of self and their world.
When you starts identifying and highlighting the beliefs you feel are importantant, then you are definitely in track with the philosophy of nursing.Nursing is a tough job and most of the nurses work tirelessly and multi task themselves in challenging conditions, inorder to bring systematic changes in the condition of the patient.Reciprocal relationships barely happen between nurses and patients ,as the latter focuses entirely on their healing ,on the other hand once the condition of the patienrt improves and leaves from the hospital, the nurse moves on with the next patient.
Moreover we continually get ourselves involved in continuing education programs to meet up to the standards of care ,and tend to evove ourselves through evidence based practice and research.I strongly believe that nurses are always responsible for getting themselves into shared governnce, with constant participation interdisciplinary activities as well as in developing professionally.
