discuss the two types of diabetes and what you think
you should know as a medical assistant?
type 1 diabetes:

Type 1 Diabetes:-Also known as Juvenile Diabetes. It is a condition where the pancreas doesn't produce insulin. It is usually seen in adolescent age group. Symptoms include fatigue, excessive thirst, hunger, sweating, nausea, vomiting, bed wetting, excessive urination.
Type 2 Diabetes:-Also known as Adult Onset Diabetes. It is a condition in which the way the body uses processes blood sugar(glucose) is affected. In this type, the body either doesn't produce insulin or it resists insulin. It occurs in age group abouve 45years old.Symptoms are same as Type 1 Diabetes.
As a medical assistant, we must know the management of the disease:- In type 1,the main management is self care and insulin treatment, regular checkup, nutrition counselling. In type 2,the management is using antidiabetic drugs, anticoagulants, statin and insulin, nutrition counselling.
