WHO or world health organization is helping and supporting the data collection and prevention plans in order to reduce the harmful effect of alcoholism.

According to WHO report in2014 alcoholism is responsible for about 3.3 million death (worldwide annually).

Besides its harmful effects on health alcoholism. The harmful effects of alcoholism are countless and they are not only associated with the person who drinks but their surrounding and society. It is one of the main root cause many social problems including drunk driving accidents and sexual violence.

It not only harm socially but economically also because the cost of purchase of alcohol and medical treatment may lead to poverty, economic stability to the family.

In 12 may 2014 report was launch in Geneva. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) organized meeting in order to review regulations for mar caring of alcoholism in America. It also focused on the effect of alcoholism on teenagers and young adults.

It also Considered the establishment of global alcoholism of marketing and proposed the regulation for alcohol marketing in America.  

Alcoholism adversely affects health in many different ways.

There are various short term and long term effects of alcoholism on health.

Most common short-term effects are dehydration and intoxication in a body, decrease motor skills, and euphoria etc.

On the other hand, most common long-term effects are liver and brain functioning due to intoxication, slurred speaking ability, slow reflexes, clumsiness, and decreased blood sugar level due to stimulation of insulin production. This can cause death to a diabetes patient.
