The American Heart Association (AHA) provides diet and lifestyle recommendations for cardiovascular disease reduction.
a) Write down two separate breakfast or lunch meals you had in the past14 days.
b) Using these meals, identify foods that would and would not be included when following these recommendations and make appropriate substitutions.
c) Summarize how your two meal intakes reduce (or not) your risk of heart disease based on the AHA dietary guidelines.

C) According to AHA dietary guidelines, Eat a limited portion of low-calorie, protein diet, nutrient-rich foods help to reduce the cardiovascular disease. Eat more vegetables and fruits which are low-calorie and rich in dietary fiber than the meats. Whole grains should be included in the daily diet which helps to regulate the blood pressure. Limited the saturated fat to 6% of the total calorie intake helps to control the blood cholesterol level and minimizes the risk of CVD. Instead of Full-fat milk use low-protein sources such as skimmed or low-fat milk, eggs, fish, legumes, soybeans. Reduce sodium intake not more than 1500mg per day.
