In an Indian soap factory in Mysore city of Southern India, the soaps are made with all natural ingredients. In the phase one, oils like coconut oil, olive oil, Cocoa butter, Sesame oil and Castor oil are first mixed together in a container that are connected to various pipes that carry these oils to it. Caustic Soda (NaOH) is then added and stirred well in the container until it thickens. In the phase two, fragrances or essential oils are blended such as Chamomile, Jasmine. In stage three, three separate jars are taken with in the ratio of 50:25:25 with natural colors like red 50%, charcoal 25% and yellow 25%. The blended mixture after the end of stage two is added here and stage four commences with molding and designing of the mixture into various shapes. For layering in different colors, in a tray boxes (long cubical shapes preferred), firstly red mixture, then charcoal, followed by the yellow is laid. It is then covered again completely with red mixture. Then again, yellow and charcoal are added in ‘S’ shape and then mixed forming an abstract pattern of designs with those colors. There is no set pattern for designing though. Then it is left for completely drying off. 85% of the ingredients used are natural and little of caustic soda only. Last is stage 5: Packaging of the soaps and then those are moved to the local and foreign markets.
