Do you agree that employers should have the right to
choose the job applicant they believe to be most suitable for the
job, even if this means some candidates are discriminated against?
Justify your answer
Discrimination means we are favoring someone based on his/her cast, color, religion etc.. If we are thinking only about the betterment of organization then discrimination can not rest in our senses. If we are in a position to explain that why we have chosen someone and why we have rejected someone then this can not be considered as discrimination.
There may be a situation when selection of any candidate can be considered as discrimination against others but if the employer has valid reasons and explanations then such act can not be considered as discrimination against anyone.
If an employer finds that candidate's aspirations are lying in accordance with company's growth then his/her selection can be validated on various moral and ethical grounds. Employer should adopt best evaluation strategies in favor of betterment of organization.
Employer should be in in position to explain the various dimensions and parameters on the basis of which he/she has selected someone. He/she should be capable to explain the rejection of other candidates.
If these two aspects can be explained in a synchronized manner then negative impacts of discrimination can be avoided at any stage.
