Guillian barre syndrome is a condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks part of peripheral nervous system. Which can be triggered due to acute bacterial or viral infections.

Guillian barre syndrome is a rare but serious condition which cause tingling and weakness of extremities initially but eventually it can lead to paralysis of whole body if intreated.

Guillian barre syndrome impact on occupational performance:

  • They get easily tired and fatigue for the simple tasks.
  • The patients with GBR will have poor grasping ability, they frequently fall the things
  • They cannot walk or have a right posture and their grooming and dressing also effected, the poor control of bowel and bladder effect their work.

Guillian barre syndrome impact on client factor:

  • Patients with GBR may experience fear, anxiety, guilt, depression
  • Weakness in the legs that spread upper body parts and difficulty in facial movements including chewing, speaking and swallowing
  • Unsteady walking and inability to climb the stairs
