DIFFERENCES: ecology of human performance model and occupational adaptation ?
The Ecology of Human performance model focuses on the relationship between several important constructs in occupational therapy , they are person , context , task , performance and the therapeutic intervention , in order to get a throughtout understand of human occupation, The person construct is one's experience and his/her sensorimotor , cognitive and psychological skills and the abilities . Then the person construct is surrounded by a circle symbolizing this person ' context ( including temporal , physical ,social, and the cultural contexts ) .
In this diagram the person are embedded in their context . An infinite variety of tasks exist around every person . Performance result when the person interact with the context to engage in tasks.
Occupational adaptation model is proposed as a frame of reference that aims to integrate thhe two main domains ( occupation and adaptation ) for occupational therapy . It defines occupation as self perceived meaningful activities thta require active participation and to a product . adaptation is one's adaptive response to meet an occupational challenge , when ordinary response is insufficient to master the activity , and is evaluated in relation to the concept ''realtive mastery'' ( i.e , evaluating occupational performance from the client's viewpoint) .
