Argue for and against the trait theory of leadership. give examples.
The trait theory of leadership provides constructive information. The application of this theory is seen at all levels of an organization. It is important to mention that the trait theory can be used to analyze a person as well as their position in an organization. The trait theory provides a detailed understanding of a person and through this, it affects other people in an organization. It also provides further information on how to develop leadership qualities.
When researched on the trait theory, it has been found that there are only a few traits that exist between the followers and their leaders. For example, Leaders are found to be ones that good at communicating in a proper manner. Leaders are also found to be having traits like height, self-confidence, extroversion. There are cons of trait-based leadership theory. It is important to mention that certain characters of trait-based theories are possessed by strong leaders. Whereas, the people who have these traits do not often become leaders.
