Describe the differences between assigned leadership and emergent leadership. Give examples of both.

Assigned leadership is the positions assigned by formal management to a specific role within an organization. | Emergent leadership is nothing but the informal leadership in which member is not assigned or elected by thr management rather, it is developed through team interaction and experiences. |
Assigned leadership is developed by individual knowledge, education and skills | Emergent leadership is developed by developed by individual experience, skill within the organization. |
Assigned leader will have ability to manage the team with his direction and instruction. | Emergent leadership will motivate the subordinates through proper communication. |
Team members will not have equal opportunities to get the position | Team members will have equal opportunity to get the leadership position |
Examples: shift managers, reporting managers, project managers etc | example: Leader developed in a construction labours, village chairperson etc. |
