Do you think labor unions are generally good for employees? In 200 words or less
Since we are saying generally, we consider the answer to be
"yes", but the fact that in today's day and age, both the
considerations and the influence of unions have dominated provide
the understanding that businesses now care about the well being of
its employees and therefore cater to their betterment. As a result,
even though unions create the best possible consideration wherever
collective bargaining is considered since most companies would be
looking after the wellbeing of its employees, it adds to hindrance
and mistrust between the employees and the management. It pushes
for the minimum payable wages to be increased per the needs of the
individuals and since it holds collective influence, it is
generally accepted by the businesses. We can also consider the
history of unions and how it has always prevented exploitation of
workers by the large industries, especially heavy industries where
manual labor has a higher priority. It seeks to establish safe
working conditions for its members, which eventually benefit the
non-members as well. The biggest consideration, however, can be
made on the basis of increased cooperation between the management
and the workers, allowing for a higher affinity towards continuous
training and development as well as retainment which allows the
company to recover the cost of recruitment as a result.
