Businesses resort to marketing to promote their businesses and get their promotional efforts converted into sales. Marketing activity, undertaken by Businesses facilitate the reaching of a product or a service to be offered in a market by way of communicating it through various media of communications including these days, the use of social media; and consecutively delivering the same to the consumers, patients or clients in a certain exchange for the offerings. The coverage of this activity needs to create value for the customers in exchange of these offerings. The concept largely takes into consideration the needs, wants and demands of the consumers and accordingly attempts to achieve the Organizational goals

However, I feel that tradition sources of media like newspapers are equally important to the businesses. Television and Print media space is still considered to be classy. For example, when I browse through the newspapers, I find the samples of certain brand of shampoo attached to it. That is how the product is marketed to me. When I watch television especially to tune into a sports channel, I get aware of the latest brands in the market thanks to the TV Commercials. In addition, it is to be noted that marketing is just not about advertising. The manner in which the Point-of-sale advertisements lure me at the Departmental store’s billing counter, is equally an interesting concept. It urges me to try out new products because right before I pull money out of my wallet, this awareness makes me give the product an experiment. In this manner, Businesses attempts various ways to make me act upon the same, which includes the benefits of both, social media and that of the use of traditional media. Besides, in the places where the reach of internet has yet not been prominent or is restricted such as that in the rural areas of a developing countries, traditional media can serve a great deal of information regarding the products of the businesses.

The complete migration to the social media platform calls for the audiences to be literate and infrastructure to be strong enough to connect the rural audiences constantly on the social media websites and applications. Even in near future, this may not be a case, especially in case of developing countries. Hence I do not thing that think traditional media like newspapers will die in the future and it will be replaced by social media.
