What needs to be done to a server rack to get servers in them?
First let us know what a server rack is used for.
Server Rack: A server rack is two way open cabinet that is used to put servers, ethernet cables, power supply etc to utilize the space, keep your devices cool and optimize them.
All the servers that are used in the rack are designed to be installed in a framework and called rack servers.
The capacity of a rack is counted in "Unit". The space required for one server is counted as "1U" and for 2 servers as "2U" and so on.
A general server rack can hold upto 42 servers counting upto "42U".
Channels: A server rack consists of channels helping the devices placed on them to be accessed with ease without disturbing the other devices as they slide outside.
Now let us know what servers are and how they can be put into a server rack.
Server: There are two types of servers.
1) Rack servers 2) Blade servers
1) Rack servers: Rack servers are installed in a central framework which are especially used for providing remote access to a private network.
2) Blade servers: They are compressed, high dense servers having their own CPU and memory used for more efficient processing, occupying less space on the rack and having their own cabling. But all of this comes for a price which does not make the suitable for all business requirements.
Installing servers in a server rack
Now the server rack is completely ready to be used with any operating system like (windows/Unix/Linux).
