1- A supposedly gold nugget is tested to determine its density. it is found to displace 19.3 mL of water and has a mass of 371 grams. could the nugget be made of gold?

Solutions

Expert Solution

from internet,
density of gold = 19.3 g/mL

mass of nugget = 371 g
Volume of nugget = volume of water displaced
                                      = 19.3 mL
density of nugget = mass of nugget / Volume of nugget
                                     = 371 g / 19.3 mL
                                     = 19.2 g/mL

since density of nugget is almost same as density of gold
So we can say that nugget is gold

yes nugget can be gold
