if we get a “sign.” of 0.652, what is the chance of a Type I error if we reject the Null Hypothesis?
null hypothesis:
the hypothesis that there is no significant difference between specified populations, any observed difference being due to sampling or experimental error.
alternative hypothesis :
An alternative hypothesis simply is the inverse, or opposite, of the null hypothesis. So, if we continue with the above example, the alternative hypothesis would be that there IS indeed a statistically-significant relationship between what type of water the flower plant is fed and growth. More specifically, here would be the null and alternative hypotheses for Susie's study:
When the null hypothesis is true and you reject it, you make a type I error. The probability of making a type I error is α, which is the level of significance you set for your hypothesis test. An α of 0.05 indicates that you are willing to accept a 5% chance that you are wrong when you reject the null hypothesis.
when p value is greater than siggnificance level and when is lesser than significance level reject null hypotheisis .
type 1 error doesnt exist
