Note: This response is in UK English, please paste the response to MS Word and you should be able to spot discrepancies easily. You may elaborate the answer based on personal views or your classwork if necessary. Also, your teacher wants you to go into your community and find out what local institutions or organisation can help the adolescent in question. These organisation names and contact information would be the first half of the response as an information resource sheet. I have written the second half based on what you might generally find.

(Answer) The resources that a troubled teenager can avail in most communities are that of a healthcare organisation or a hospital. In the case of the pregnant adolescent or the one with addictions, access to a medical institution is absolutely pivotal.

The adolescent pregnant teenager might require assistance from adoption agencies and prenatal care clinics. General things like an exercise class, adoption agency etc. would help with the well-being of the mother and child and assist with the optimal procedure of adoption if the mother so desires.

The adolescent addict must have access to a community gathering or affordable therapy if possible. This would help with counselling and coping with the anxiety of an overwhelming detox procedure. If the patient can afford a rehabilitation course or holistic medical care, the situation would already be easier to mend. Basic clinic services should be available at the local hospitals. These medical clinics might help with first aid or required assistance in overcoming addictions. Local churches or smaller communities might have meetings like alcoholics anonymous or other helpful seminars that might encourage the teen to focus on recovery.

In both cases, the adolescent individual is undergoing some major changes that can be nerve-wracking if there isn’t appropriate assistance or guidance. If not counselling, then perhaps help from social outreach programs might help ameliorate the stress of overcoming hurdles. Local fire departments, police departments etc might have information about ongoing outreach programmes or community exercises that might be of help to both individuals.

By themselves, none of these solutions might be enough. However, with a combined effort from all aspects of the community, the adolescent might just be able to cope with the cumbersome situation that they must overcome. No community is fully equipped with every solution. However, there are volunteer groups that provide assistance in directing these individuals for the help they require.
