What is Community Policing?

Community policy refers to a legal strategy that allows police officers to operate the same area for a long time and creates a strong bond between the officers and citizens who are living in that society. Community Policing is always better for the public safety because it’s allowing the officers to operate the local residents. This kind of policy is better for all kind of society and preventing the citizens from any kinds of crime.

Difference with Traditional Policy

1) Community policing refers to the strongest bond between the police officers and local citizens for protecting a locality.

In other hand, Traditional Policing defines public safety as just a responsibility of the police officers. There is no bond between the police officers and local citizens.

2) Community policing is always reactive and also proactive.

Traditional policing is just reactive nothing else.

3) In Community policing, community’s safety is the main concern. In community Policing police officers also educates the local community to stay safe.

In Traditional policing, Police officers are more concern about their duties rather than anything else.

Does Community policing offer a real opportunity to improve policing service in United states?

According to the public opinion, yes community policing can offer a real opportunity to improve policing services in United States.

Why?

Community policing is an effective strategy for preventing us from crimes. As police officers are now the part of the community so they can interact with local people and can educate them for their own safety. So definitely it’s offering a real opportunity to improve the policing services in United states.

There are some few steps which need to be followed in Community policing. These steps are better training of the police officers, better selection process and police officers need to live in the local community.
