Nomial level:
It is used with categorical variables. Here we cannot define order between the categories.
For example: Hair color, Car type

Ordinal level:
It is used with categorical variables. Here we can define order between the categories.
For example: Food quality (bad, good, very good, excellent)

Interval level:
It is used with quantitative variables. Here zero does not mean absence of data. For example: temperature
If temperature is zero then it does not show absence of temperature.

Ratio Interval:
It is used with quantitative variables. Here zero means absence of data or no data. For example: distance
If distance is zero then it shows there is no distance between objects or missing distance

Dichotomous level:
Here variable can have only two possible values. For example: Question that has only two possible answers: agree or disagree
